Abstract

Gingival recession, defined as partial radicular denudation by the apical displacement of the gingival margin, involves the vestibular alveolar bone and the free gingiva located above it. Our periodontal patients present alterations such as the presence of black triangles due to absence of papillae, migration of the gingival margins and gingival asymmetries. Although cervical lesions are commonly treated using restorative materials, biologic options using connective tissue grafts to replace the lost soft tissues have proven esthetic benefits and periodontal health. We present a case of four adjacent gingival recessions that affect the aesthetic area and were carriers of class V composite restorations, which were treated by the connective tissue graft technique in combination with a coronal advancement flap. Conclusions: the technique of coronal advancement flap with connective tissue graft is predictable when obtaining root coverage in gingival recessions with non-carious cervical lesions, and also provides satisfactory aesthetic results.
