Abstract

There is a high incidence of burnout among nurses, so this sensation of "being all dried up" affects both their personal and professional life. Keeping this in mind, we must analyze the forms burnout may appear in such a way that we know the importance of the syndrome and develop strategies to minimize it either from the clinical, psychosocial and professional point of view from the field of nursing management. As a major player in the fight against burnout in nursing, the figure of nurse manager is the most suitable for the role as it will be the professional with the greatest guarantee of success to implement preventive and corrective actions to prevent burnout. It can be either adopting a close and participative leadership or either creating environments that promote job satisfaction and reduce job stress, with an appropriate staff sizing. How these preventive activities can be performed? By applying a promotion of the motivation and recognition of the person qualified; by planning effectively the daily work; and by anticipating problems and dysfunctions providing efficient and creative solutions, without forgetting the generation of trust in work groups
