Resumen

This article determines the interest of parents and students in the distinct subjects in the school curriculum and especially in the area of Physical Education and if these interests have varied in the last decade. The study was conducted in the province of Albacete (Spain), including 409 students of Elementary and Secondary Education and 150 parents. The design is under the “mixed methods” paradigm. We used questionnaires and interviews. The results indicate that Physical Education still has little importance as an educational discipline, but it is the subject that arouses most interest and motivation. The value given to Physical Education has decreased in the last decade, and bodily expression remains of little interest to students, while interest in warm-up and relaxation activities increased. Parents still give little educational importance to Physical Education.
