Abstract

Literature suggests that here are NSC and progenitor cells within the adult mouse olfactory bulb (OB). This study looks into the existence of a neurogenic niche within this area of the brain by characterizing the NSC and progenitor cell populations and their differentiation into mature neurons. In addition, carbón-based nanomaterials such as graphene, has been studied as favourable materials for use with the neural tissue. Accordingly, the second main objective of this thesis was to evaluate the biocampatibility potential of graphene with the olfactory bulb tissue in vitro and in vivo.
