Resumen

AHCC is a natural product discovered in 1986 and patented by the Japanese company Amino up, which is obtained from the fermentation of the mycelium of the L. edodes fungus. It is described as a nutraceutical or an immunomodulator due to its ability to modulate the immune response to challenges of different etiology (1). Currently, it is used as concomitant treatment in cancer patients, since it reduces the generalized effects of chemotherapy (2-5).In the present work, we wanted to test the effects of AHCC in an organ where the regulation of the immune system is fundamental: the intestine.
