Resumen
The pursuit of urban and architectural sustainability of our cities is the subject of current reflection for planners and architects. One example is MASDAR CITY, Sir Norman Foster project, who proposed to the government of the UAE build the first self-sufficient city of the world. Scheduled for completion in 2020, this zero-energy- consumption city, is built slowly, perhaps at a slower pace than initially expected, but full of proposals to address ecological life of the cities of tomorrow. This January 2016 students and teachers of the School of Architecture and Master in Rehabilitation, maintenance and restoration of buildings University Alfonso X the Wise, had the opportunity to approach it and watch live and direct its progress , testing, in-situ the different proposals raised ecological construction there. This was a great opportunity for cultural outreach and continuing education, complementary to their training as architects and / or Rehabilitation’s Masters, activity that allowed direct contact between our students and recent architectural projects worldwide.
