Abstract

The “Plaza Oriental” has been supposed a major change in the urban planning in the city of Segovia after the Civil War. The main objective of this reform was to set a clear panorama around the Aqueduct, a new environment which should be beautiful, well organized and with urban access. For this purpose, it was carried out the National Architectural Competition in 1946. Despite there were 6 projects none of them was selected. However, some of the solutions in these projects were carried out in the sixties. These solutions partially cover the objective however the urban situation is unfinished today due to a dense traffic area was generated which prevents enjoyment of this scenario.
