Abstract

This paper analyzes the prevalence of nine popular food myths in 201 future secondary school teachers during their initial training. It is intended to assess whether previous training in biosanitary areas, determines a better knowledge of the reality of food. The results show that myths are equally widespread among future teachers, regardless of their previous training area, so it is concluded that myths, beyond academic training, are popularized through the media and are commonly accepted, despite the fact that previous teacher training could be contrary.
