Abstract

In this bibliographic review, we are going to study and compare the different concepts of prosthetic loading in implantology. We will see that there are two fundamental concepts in implantology, which are osseointegration and stability. From these two concepts, we observe that the prosthetic load can be immediate loading (the prosthesis is placed the same day as the implant) or delayed loading (the prosthesis is placed at least 3 months after the implant). Each loading technique has indications and contraindications, a special operative protocol, different prosthetic strategies and complications. The choice of one or the other of the techniques is made on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the demands of the patient from the psychological, aesthetic and comfort point of view, as well as the possibilities and capabilities of the practitioner. Thus, we are going to study the different prosthetic loading protocols in implantology and observe the results of each one. We are also going to look at the All-on-four and All-on-six techniques of immediate loading and compare theresults.
