Abstract

The gravitational system is regulated by the vestibulospinal and reticulospinal systems to obtain the maximal efficiency in the postural adjustment. The miofascial system is an essential part in the automatic posture control and can suffer dysfunctions for three reasons: immobility, traumatism and overload. The consequence is the creation of compensatory mechanisms in order to maintain the vertical, triggering muscular hypertonia, fascial thickness, of the gravity centres and mayor energy consumption. This article aims to show the importance of including the myofascial release therapy in the adult patient with brain injury by a clinic case where the outcomes confirm a improvement in the alignment of the gravity centres and a postural adjustment more harmonic and efficiency.
