Abstract

This report describes an interesting case of a 8 years-old Yorkshire Terrier with a important number of different pathologies. Some of the lesions were related with aging and some were due to several previous traumatic accidents. The animal died in the Clinical Veterinary Hospital of Alfonso X el Sabio University after a surgery to sort out the displacement of abdominal organs after a severe trauma of the diaphragm and a complete necropsy was performed. This article describes the most important macroscopical and histopathological findings comparing them with the anamnesis and the analitical parameters, in order to establish the cause of death which is related with a severe traumatism, secondary bacterial infection and the chronic cardiac lesions.
