Abstract

Greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) are not the sole responsibility of States or companies. Individuals play a very important role with their decisions on consumption of goods and services. But what is the level of knowledge we have about the concept of individual carbon footprint? How conscious are we about the environmental impact of our daily activities? Are we willing to pay to offset our individual carbon footprint? Are we willing to change our habits if we receive an economic signal when purchasing a new product or service? In this article, the results of a quantitative study through surveys conducted in Spain between 8 and 18 July 2014 on 172 individuals are analyzed. Depending on what kind of good or service is analyzed, the intention to change behavior is different
