The evolution of organizational information systems has brought a considerable increase in the amount of information to process as well as in the inefficiencies found in the management procedures and techniques. Considering that even within a given organization, its different functional areas tend to use their own criteria to produce management reports, very different kind of data are requested to meet all these particular definitions and calculation systems. Likewise, the interdependenc between directors and responsibles for TIC areas in the organizations has been also inrecrased, as latter are only the ones that have a good knowledge of the data models in which information systems have been built upon. In the current economic situation, where organizations have no margin of error in making their decisions, the information from supporting systems must help, not hinder, and it is at this moment where BI solutions will play a fundamental role. These solutions will allow to integrate all the data stored in the different information systems deployed to support organzations’ internal procedures. The BI of the organization will be the basis for building reports. This will allow managers to be autonomous and use the corporate BI for making decisions.
