Herramientas basadas en Business Intelligence (BI) para la toma de decisiones en el ámbito de la gestión universitaria

Abstract

In the current academic situation, different lacks in information management and efficient indicators can negatively influence the process of decision-making. Thus, it is important that academic institutions such as universities should be provided with tools based on the Business Intelligence (BI) paradigms to analyze and represent the most relevant data. In this way, dashboards implemented using BI approaches will lead to the availability of useful tools ready to be included in the different universitary decision-making process and governance. In addition, the most influencing factors and parameters involved in quality programs developed by universities could be also added to the information presented by the dashboards. The approach used in this paper focuses on three quality parameters: the enrollment rate, the students’ performance and the ratio of labor market integration for graduated students.
