Abstract

Education needs a completely new approach to meet most of the aspects featuring the current society. To do so, education has to absolutely count on new technologies to broad the knowledge frontiers and to change the learning-teaching process. Always considering, students requirements and the goals to be achieved in this century, universities must keep themselves updated in respect to the new technological mechanisms which, on the other hand, are transforming the way in which we perceive the institutions devoted to higher education. This paper presents a study about the new technological tools, analyzing, among others, the MOOC initiative, P2P learning, Future Classroom and, as a new computer-based tool to perform auto-assesment in European universities: Heinnovate
