Abstract
The treatment and care of the sick newborn foal imply an evaluation and control of all its organs and systems since multi system pathologies are frequent This article addresses the different aspects to be considered in intensive care, in order of priority in relation to the risk of survival. The cardiopulmonary resuscitation protocol is described as well as the guidelines for maintaining the cardiac and respiratory functions. The basic principles of treatment and maintaining the hydro electrolytic and acid base equilibrium. And guidelines to control and maintain the rest of the organs and systems that may be involved. The evaluation and an immediate treatment of the critical foal are vital for a successful dealing with these patients.
