Abstract

Climate change is one of the most worrying and up-to-date environmental issues of great magnitude that operates on both a regional and international scale. Many countries today are faced with the inability to reduce their net greenhouse gas emissions. In 2001, within the international negotiations, a great interest has arisen regarding the capture of carbon both by air and in the subterranean soils of the soils of Agroforestry Systems. In this work whose title: Carbon sequestration by forests as a global climate change mitigation strategy. its application to cases of countries on the African continent. It has been possible to analyze potential "regreening" areas and estimate the carbon captured by the Agroforestry Systems located in the southwestern part of Niger between the period 1985-2017. In the preliminary phase of the investigation using remote sensing techniques, the distribution of the field plots was designed in which different variables such as forest attributes (diameter and height) have been measured and soil samples have been taken...
