Abstract

Richard Sennett (2019) segregates the city concept into two basic components: the ville and the cité, the built support and the urban life itself. Both elements are interdependent and mating in a discordant way. The connection between the planned and the lived is full of fissures and discrepancies. On the other hand, antifragility is a term coined by Nicholas Taleb (2012) to describe anything that benefits from chance, uncertainty and change, in other words, improve with disorder, evolve with entropy. Facing an increasingly digital world that allows greater seclusion in the private space; this article explores the capabilities that promote the improvement of the public space, by introducing elements of disorder: dis-ordering functions, un-planning spaces, des-regulating codes and re-naturalizing the city.
