The main aim of this article is the study of the situation of African women from the point of view of her ethnical diversity and the effects of colonial history. Imperialism changed the African way of life and it left its traces on the woman situation in the African society. It changed her role. At the present, the African woman must look for a new life gathering her tradition and the development of a modern way of life.
