Abstract

In the framework of the Arab Spring, as has been called the social movements that took place in 2011, the revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt were the beginning of a process that has deeply changed the life of many countries in the Arab World. In Egypt, the events happened in Tahrir Place, not only carried out the end of the Mubark´s dictatorship, but also, allowed the full political integration of new actors, among them, the Muslim Brothers play the main role. In the subsequent transitional process, the Brotherhood has achieved the control of the National Assembly and its leader, Momamed Mursi, has been situated in the Presidency. The present debate is focused on the truly democratic dimension of this movement and its relations with the other social forces inside Egypt and abroad. This paper tries to address these issues. For this purpose, it begins with an explanation about the ideological and political evolution of the Muslim Brotherhood and its internal changes caused by the end of the previous regime, after that, a final analysis on its transnational influence and the possible future international aftermaths.
