This paper presents a Master’s thesis carried out with the aim of analysing the current usefulness and potential of virtual reality (VR) in the intermediate level vocational training of motor vehicle electromechanics technician. The possible advantages and disadvantages that this technology can offer in the learning process are evaluated and how it opens up opportunities by providing the ability to access virtual environments that are difficult to access in a real way with traditional resources, allowing students to experience realistic and practical scenarios related to the contents of the intermediate training cycle. It examines the possible implementation of VR in automotive training and the challenges in adapting existing curricula to the integration of VR in the educational environment. The possibility of creating an immersive VR classroom to offer students an immersive learning experience that allows them to acquire knowledge and skills more effectively in the automotive field is discussed. Aspects such as the costs of acquiring resources, the necessary infrastructure, the required teacher training and technical constraints are considered.
