Abstract

In this paper we have collected data from the bodies analyzed in Rwanda in 1994 and in Kosovo in 1999.Both events were classified as genocide according to the concepts in the legal texts. However, we have considered that there are differences between the injuries that were found on the bodies, on both of the sites that were studied. Based on the injuries, we have tried to find out the treatment that the victims received before death, and which can define a series of concepts about the crimes against humanity committed in Rwanda and Kosovo. For the research we have defined concepts such as war crimes and genocide. Our objectives were:1)To find out the different injuries found on the bodies that were investigated in Rwanda and Kosovo.2)Determining racial and ethnic characteristics of the bodies as a defining fact of genocide.3)Analyze and define sexual characteristics, and approximate the age ofthe victims. The study has been conducted with a sample of 1045 people, of which 858 were studied directly in Rwanda and 187 in Kosovo. The final number of bodies was higher than the above mentioned, however, not all the corpses could be included in the study as they could not all be reached due to their inaccessibility(129corpses).
