Abstract
Identityaccompanies humanbeings frombirth, soidentifyactionisaprocessinherentinpeople.Itisdonealmostinanautomatedwayandhasthesamerelevanceinlivingpersons asdead, having atthesametimea lot ofsocialimpact.Necroidentification uses differentsknowledges andtechniques, variousforensicsciencesinordertoobtainapositiveidentity. Forthisreason, identificationmethods aredividedintotwogroups depending onthereliabilityandtheresults wecanget.Ontheonehand, theapproximatemethods, such as the analysis of images and photographic superimposition are not suitabletofind outtheidentityofthevictim(there are useful to find out sex, height or age of the victim, in order to bring us closerto the identity of the victim). Instead, theindividualizers methods, inwhichthecomparisonismadewithante-mortem andpost-mortemdata, allowustoestablishtheidentityobjectively.Inourworkwehavecarried outareviewfrommostgeneralinidentifying asdefinitionandsociologicalframe,toanevolutionaryanalysisoftheprocedures usednowadays
