The DICOENAZ research group is dedicated to the study of parasitic and infectious diseases in animals, with a special interest in those with zoonotic potential. The group focuses on the detection and early diagnosis of these diseases, as well as the development of strategies for their prevention and control. Using molecular diagnostic methods and serology, the group aims to understand the mechanisms of transmission and spread of various pathogens, as well as to identify risk factors for the development of these infections. Additionally, we collaborate closely with other research groups, academic institutions, and public health organizations to share knowledge and develop synergies that contribute to mitigating the circulation of infectious and parasitic agents. The group's work not only contributes to animal welfare but also has significant implications for public health by helping to prevent the occurrence of outbreaks affecting humans.
