Resumo

Throughout History, many women have wanted to train in different subjects, but the mentality and social conventions of their respective times prevented it. However, some did not conform and decided to fight to get it. Despite the many obstacles they encountered, they achieved their objectives by showing commendable tenacity and courage. In this article we wanted to pay tribute to these brave women by emphasizing the work done by two of them, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson and Sophia Jex-Blake, who applied themselves with fervor to achieve their dream: to study medicine.
